Young Human Rights Activist Found Dead At Home In Badkulla

Krishnanagar, May 8: Mystery shrouded in Nadia’s Badkulla after lady human right activists, who is also a final year student of journalism, was found hanging at his home on Thursday night.

The deceased Anuradha Chakraborty, 23, made at least five posting, mostly poems marked with depression, apparently before her death.

She was found hanging with her dupatta at her home in Badkulla Sitalatala area at about 9 Pm. The police recovered her body and sent for post mortem to Krishnanagar.

The Taherpur police have started a case of unnatural death.

Anuradha was an avid reader of www.newsfromnadia.com since its inception.

An officer of Taherpur police said: “Prima facie it appeared that the young woman has committed suicide. However, the exact cause of death could only be ascertained only after the post mortem”.

Father of the deceased girl, Subhasish Chakraborty, could not throw any light to the sleuths about any possible reason behind the suicide.

However, sources in the locality claimed that the girl, who as member of APDR, human rights organization, was recently threatened by some of her friends after she had protested their illegal works.
