Top CPWD Engineer Died In Accident On NH-34 In Chakdaha

NfN NETWORK Chakdaha, Nov. 7:In a bizarre incident a New Delhi based senior Central Public Works Department (CPWD) Engineer was crushed to death in a road accident on NH-34 in Nadia’s Chakdaha on Saturday evening. The incident occurred at around 5 pm while he was heading for Dumdum airport to catch a Delhi bound flight for a visit to home on the occasion of Deewali. The deceased was identified as Prakash Chandra Arya, 55, who was posted as Executive Engineer (Civil) under the Indo-Bangldesh border road and fencing project’s Krishnanagar office. Two others persons including an assistant engineer and the driver of the vehicle were injured in the accident and admitted to JNM hospital in Kalyani. Deceased Prakash Chandra Arya was a resident of Sector IV in RK Puram in New Delhi. SP Nadia BL Meena said: “The accident occurred when a dumper lorry lost control and hit a bolero carrying the CPWD officers near in Chatkatala area of Chakdaha on NH-34 early in the evening”. The locals with support of the police recovered the victims and rushed them to Chakdaha state general hospital where Arya was announced brought dead. Hospital sources said, the deceased earned fatal multiple injury on his head and chest and died on the spot.
