Sister Molested, Brothers Attacked

Krihsnaganj, Jan. 5: Armed miscreants attacked four teens with sharp weapon when they tried to resist their molestation attempt on their sister, who is a class nine girl.

The four teens, which include the girl’s own sibling and cousins, were hospitalized and at present fighting for life.

This bizarre incident occurred at Govindapur village in Nadia’s Krishnaganj late on Sunday night.

Krishnaganj police has initiated a case against four persons who allegedly led made the molestation bid and led the attack, on the basis of a complaint lodged by the girl’s aunt Jharna Roy.

Police said, the girl and his four brothers, who are residents of Kune-Chandipur went to attend a cultural proramme to Govindapur villager on last night which was organized by ‘Palli Bikshan’, a rural fortnightly on the occasion of its 20th  anniversary.

“The four brothers got involved into an altercation with some local youths in Govindapur. The two groups had scuffles and beaten up each other. Later when the girl went to attend nature’s call to an isolated place at about 10 PM, four miscreants tried to molest and also to elope the girl.

The minor girl, who is a student of class nine in Krishnaganj based school said: “When I was returning from the toilet, four youths attacked me. They tried to outrage my modesty and also tried to kidnap me. I raised an alarm to alert my brothers who stood close to the spot. They chased the youths and nabbed them following which a scuffle broke out”.

“Later after some time when we were returning home and those youths led by Sukesh Ghosh, Babla Ghosh and Bahadur Ghosh attacked us with sharp weapon near the Govindapur ghat on the bank of Mathabhanga river. They had hasua in their hand and tried to hack my brothers. They also beaten up me and made fresh molestation attempt. I somehow managed to flee and informed some locals who rushed in and rescued my brothers. However, by the time they sustained critical injuries. The locals rushed them to Krishnaganj block hospital from where they were later shifted to Saktinagar district hospital in Krishnanagar”, the girl said.

According to police, the four injured teens were identified as the girl’s sibling Subhankar Roy, Nemai Roy, Ujjwal Roy and Milan Roy.

Hospital sources said, all the victims had multiple injuries. “They have sustained deep cut injuries made of sharp weapons on their hands, back and on legs. Deep wounds were given stitches and their condition is very  critical”, a doctor said.
