Partha Paid Tribute To Bagha Jatin

Education minister Partha Chatterjee on Wednesday paid his tribute to freedom fighter Jatindranath Mukherjee, known as ‘Bagha Jatin’ at Krishnanagar Anglo-Vernacular School on the occasion of his death centenary. The Bengali revolutionary leader who born in Kayagram village of Kusthia sub division of undivided Nadia, was a student of the school. He spent his childhood and school life in Goaripara area of Krishnanagar where he stayed at the house of his maternal uncle. Bagha Jatin appeared in the Matriculation examination from the AV school. As a tribute to this great student, the school authority organized a special programme from September 10 – on the day he was martyred in the year of 1915. On the concluding day of the programme, Minister Partha Chatterjee said: “Bagha Jatin was not just a revolutionary, he was a philosopher, a great student as well and a dedicated soul for the motherland. He should be the ideal of today’s students and the youths”.
