3 Died In Accident On NH-34 Near Kalyani

Kalyani, Dec. 8: Three persons were killed on NH-34 near Kalyani connector late on Tuesday night when a stationary lorry over turned being hit by another lorry on its back after its driver lost control. The bizarre incident occurred at about 12.45 am when a Chakdah bound lorry loaded with potato coming through the Kalyani link road rammed into the back of a stationary lorry while taking a sharp turn in a bid to take on NH-34. As an outcome, the stationary vehicle overturned and had fallen on a night watchman of a hotel, killing him on the spot. The victim was identified as Ashoke Ghosh, 51, a resident of Murshidabad. The other two victims were Tapan Ghosh, driver of the Chakdaha bound lorry and its cleaner Sujit Saha, who were residents of Baliadanga and Khargachi under Chakdaha police station.
